How it started...

My name is Carmen, the owner and founder of "The Brainiac". My personal learning and academic journey continued after school when I studied BCom Industrial Psychology at the NWU in Potchefstroom. Secretly I knew I wasn't built for the corporate world and always had an interest in education and psychology. After I finished my degree, I did my PGCE and then applied for my Honours in Educational Psychology at the University of Pretoria.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic I struggled to find a teaching position and decided to do some research and see what need there was in the educational field. After collaborating with fellow educators "The Brainiac" was born and I started making a variety of resources according to what teachers needed to have an effective lesson, as well as what learners wanted to gain the most out of their learning experience. Flash forward to 2022 I have both online and practical teaching experience, ready to grow this business and make it a platform teachers, parents and learners can visit to assist them in making the most of the academic school journey.
